Pearl FALCO Supports Children Throughout Asia
With every Pearl FALCO Jewellery Purchase, Pearl FALCO helps empower underserved children throughout Asia by sponsoring tuition fees through our Pearl of Hope Project.
Thank You for Your Support of the Pearl of Hope Project. 36 Amazing Years and Counting!
Originally launched over 30 years ago in 1987 by Pearl FALCO CEO Maiko Makito’s parents, the Pearl of Hope Project started by aiding underserved children in the Philippines. The Pearl of Hope Project has since expanded to serve communities as far and wide as from the Philippines to the Himalayas.
While many of Pearl FALCO’s Team Members in Ise Shima Japan and Singapore continue to donate directly to the program through their salaries, the vast bulk of funding is thanks to you, our valued Pearl FALCO Customers.
Maiko Makito, CEO of Pearl FALCO, Visits Pearl of Hope Scholars Yearly to Share Tuition Fees Directly With Their Families and Local Schools
Maiko Likes to Think of the Pearl Of Hope Project As A Virtuous Circle Without End
For Maiko, the “virtuous circle” begins with Pearl FALCO sharing handcrafted heirloom quality pearl jewellery with our valued customers, who share these expressions of love and devotion with loved ones near and far, now and into the future.
Proceeds from these gifts are passed on to underserved children throughout Asia, helping them realise a better quality of life for themselves, their families and their communities. It is thanks to you, our valued customers, that we are able to carry on this decades-old tradition. As Always, Thank You So Much For Your Continued Support!
Sincerely,
Maiko Makito. CEO of Pearl FALCO
Wish to Be Sustainable with Pearl of HOPE Project
Through this Pearl of HOPE project sharing our knowleage about pearls, we wish to connect our hometown, Ise Shima, with the rest of the world, helping more people to learn about pearls. We believe that happiness in life has a lot to do with people and their connections. People sharing timeless pearl jewelry helps to bind connections through several generations.
Akoya Pearls from Ise Shima Japan Ise Shima is world-renowned as the birthplace of cultured pearls. In the crystal clear water of Ise Shima, oysters have been cultivated with love and devotion by generations of pearl farming families.
But now Akoya pearl cultivation is a challenging profession. Even after 5 to 6 years of steady cultivation, less than 30% of the fully cultured pearls can be used for jewelry. Due to global warming and the decline in the number of local pearl farmers, the production of Akoya pearls has been experiencing a steep decline, now only at 1/10th, compared with the past. For the past two years alone, 80% of Akoya mother oysters died due to ocean temperature changes.
Pearl FALCO is asking for your support so that we can continue to help maintain our local community while simultaneously supporting our “Pearl of Hope Challenge”. Through this program, we hope to enhance educational opportunities for children throughout Asia.
We Wish To Share Our Treasure, Akoya Pearls From Ise Shima To The World.
