An ode to its birthplace, Ise Shima Japan, Pearl FALCO was founded by the Makito family as an amalgamation of culture and beauty. Since its conception, Pearl FALCO prides itself as the leader in creating pearl jewellery pieces with the utmost love and care for generations to come.
Pearl FALCO is currently helmed by Maiko Makito who took the reins from her father after resigning from a MNC in 2016. Since taking over, Maiko’s vision for the business is to tell the tale of her hometown to the world and pass her knowledge of pearls to the future generations, with the many stories and people’s love and devotion behind each piece of pearl jewellery.

Maiko’s Challenge
One of Maiko’s aspirations was to share her pride and passion for her hometown of Ise Shima, the birthplace of cultured Akoya Pearls, with the world. She aimed to inspire both individuals and experts in the Pearl Industry to appreciate its rich history.
Maiko initiated the annual “The Grand Prix of Akoya Pearl Jewelry” competitions in Asia. Additionally, she devoted herself to organizing Pearl Appreciation Workshops held at various shool and seminers. Now with renowned filmmakers she is creating a captivating documentary Pearl Legacy Project, unveiling the behind-the-scenes magic of cultured pearls while celebrating the rich cultures, traditions, and people of each pearl-producing region.
However, closest to Maiko’s heart is Pearl FALCO’s “Pearl of HOPE Project.” This longstanding charitable initiative has been providing educational opportunities to children across Asia for over 30 years, through the provision of tuition assistance.
