Pearl FALCO is a modest, traditional family business located in the Japanese countryside. In the midst of Japan’s decades-long economic challenges coupled with a declining domestic Japanese population, the odds for Pearl FALCO’s continued success has been by no means guaranteed.
And then COVID-19 struck, posing an even greater challenge, with local tourist traffic down, negatively impacting the influx of customers who appreciate unique handmade luxury pearl jewelry.
Just as Maiko was taking the helm of the family business, Maiko’s mission became clearer than ever. It was then that Maiko understood the importance of innovation, and the need to stay resilient and not give up.
