Introducing Pearl FALCO’s Brand-Shizuku 雫 to Singapore & Asia
The Ancient Romans were extremely fond of pearls, describing them as “Moon Dewdrops.” The legend went that pearls were formed from ”moon dewdrops,” falling into rivers leading to the ocean. Just as we wish to share pearls born in Ise Shima with the world, the Shizuku Designs explore love as a gold moon mother cradling her pearl children.

A Personal Understanding of A Great Asian Historical Tradition
The Mid-Autumn Festival “中秋节,” also known as The Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, and its traditional festival is celebrated by people throughout Asia. The Mooncake Festival is considered the 2nd most important holiday after the Chinese New Year, practiced for at least over 3,000 years.
The Emperor of China is said to have prayed to the moon for a bountiful harvest in autumn, while praying for a plentiful harvest the following year. The festival is held on the night of a full moon, on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Chinese Luni-Solar Calendar, around mid-September and early October. The Chinese percieve of an “Autumnal Harvest Moon” at its brightest and most brilliant on this auspicious day.
Mooncakes are a rich pastry typically filled with sweet-bean, egg yolk, meat, lotus seed paste, and various fillings with different artistic impressions intricately scrolled and baked onto the surface of the cake, illustrating the many legends of the festival. A mooncake is typically round in shape. The Moon Festival is also a time for family reunions. In Chinese, “round” has a similar pronunciation to “reunion.”
During the Mooncake Festival, followers present mooncakes as offerings to the Moon Goddess – Chang Er – flying to the Moon – cause for celebration with a nicely brewed chinese tea, along with presenting mooncakes to relatives and friends for good wishes. Paper lanterns of all sizes and shapes are carried and displayed as symbolic beacons to light people’s path to prosperity and good fortune.
