Thanks to your continued support, Pearl FALCO continues to successfully conduct our Akoya Pearl Jewellery Grand Prix with exhibitions in both Ise Shima Japan and Singapore year after year. Sharing the Beauty of Akoya Pearls and Ise Shima Japan with the World
Now celebrating its 6th consecutive year, some of the Original Reasoning Behind Our Pearl FALCO Competition. We at Pearl FALCO were struck by how many people outside of Japan visit Japan multiple times, but rarely visit Ise Shima, the birthplace of the cultured pearl industry and one of the most popular tourist destinations among the Japanese people. Pearl FALCO’s Design Competition is meant to inform the world about Ise Shima Japan.
Akoya Pearl cultivation requires unique conditions to thrive, Sequestered inlets of calm and clean ocean water estuaries, cared for and protected by our farmers’ daily diligence over several years. As we like to explain, the amount of time and care that goes into harvesting each genuine pearl you will see in our galleries, from shell fragments to cultivated pearls, each pearl has been touched by hand at least 3000 times.
We Wish to Connect You and the World Through Pearl Jewellery
Pearl cultivation in 2023 faces enormous challenges, including climate change and the ageing of experienced pearl farmers. Akoya pearl production has declined 90% in the past decade, and in the last 2 years alone, 80% of Akoya Oysters have died due to ocean water temperature changes. These factors make luxury pearl jewellery production and design even more challenging going forward.
Just as a pearl necklace with so many pearls of different lustre, shapes, and colours come together to create a work of art. Pearls are the only living gemstone, born in nature, crafted with human love and devotion.
The Design Competition Is Composed of 2 Parts
- Jewellery Creations. Limited to 200 Entries
- Jewellery Design Drawings. Limited to 20 Entries

- Pearl FALCO Design Awards
Please enter both Competitions if you would like to register for both Jewellery Creations and Jewellery Design Drawings.
Prizes include Excursions to Ise Shima Japan, Pearl FALCO Pearl Jewellery and Ise Shima Signature Items. In addition, chosen designs will be crafted into works for sale by Pearl FALCO Design Team Members.
