Are Akoya Pearls a Good Investment?

Yes! Akoya pearls are not only cherished for their beauty but also appreciate in value over time, making them a timeless investment in luxury jewelry.

Unlike other pearls, Akoya oysters require four distinct seasons and calm, clean waters to thrive—conditions now increasingly threatened by global warming. Their rarity, combined with expert craftsmanship, enhances their long-term value and desirability.

What other types of materials are used in your jewelries?

We also use precious materials such as gold, platinum and silver for our products. Other precious gemstones such as diamonds are used to accentuate some of our unique designs and some cases, other organic materials such as corals are used as well.

These are explicitly stated in the product description section of each item’s listing, and you are always more than welcome to inquire more about a specific piece of jewelry’s specifications and quality of materials used at any given time.

How can I tell if a pearl is real or fake?

To test if a pearl is real, gently rub two pearls against each other. A real pearl will feel slightly gritty or textured, while fake pearls will feel super smooth. This is because real pearls have natural layers of nacre, which create a slight friction when rubbed together, while fake pearls have a smoother surface.

How does Pearl FALCO ensure pearl quality?

Each pearl undergoes a rigorous grading process based on:

  •  Luster: The brilliance and reflection of light on the pearl’s surface. High-quality Akoya pearls have a mirror-like shine.
  • Surface Quality: Pearls are inspected for blemishes, spots, or imperfections. Flawless pearls are rare and highly valued.
  • Shape: Perfectly round pearls are the most sought-after, but unique baroque shapes also have artistic appeal.
  • Size: Akoya pearls typically range from 5mm to 9mm, with larger pearls being rarer and more valuable.

Pearl FALCO selects only the finest pearls, ensuring superior quality and durability.
