Pearl FALCO’s Contest’s Theme for 2022. “Moonlight”
Since ancient times, many cultures have cherished pearls as “Dewdrops from the Moon” dropped into the ocean. Just as we understand today, Calm and soothing moonlight mirrors the magnificent lustre of Akoya pearls. Pearl FALCO appreciates how we connected with so many beyond language, culture and nationality through Akoya pearl jewelry. Thank you to all who were able to participate in 2022!
Akoya Pearl Cultivation Is Facing Challenges Like Never Before
Akoya pearl cultivation faces enormous challenges, including climate change and ageing experienced pearl farmers. In only the last decade, Akoya pearl production has declined by 90%. In the previous two years alone, 80% of Akoya Oysters died from ocean temperature changes. These factors make luxury pearl jewellery production and design even more challenging!
For Maiko Makito, CEO of Pearl FALCO, Pearl FALCO is SO much more than selling Akoya pearl jewelry. It’s Family, Love, and Connection. I wish to connect You, Pearls, Ise Shima and the World.
