“I Always Look Up At The Moon And See It As The Single Most Romantic Place Within The Cosmos”
With the upcoming Mid Autumn Festival upon us, when we gather with family and friends to give thanks under a full moon, we remind ourselves of how calm and soothing moonlight has a wonderfully exquisite beauty, akin to the intrinsic brilliance and lustre of pearls.
Since ancient times, many cultures have treasured pearls like no other gemstone, some describing pearls as “Moon Drops” raining down into the ocean. For this year’s Grand Prix, Pearl FALCO explores the cultural significance and relationship between pearls, the moon, and moonlight.
Inspired by ancient cultures’ reflections on elements in their world beyond their understanding, Pearl FALCO develops beautiful works of art for our SHIZUKU Series. Moondrop Design Narratives, timeless pieces, exploring where reality meets the sublime.
Moonlight. Pearl FALCO. Pearly Lustre
Pearls are ‘living gemstones,’ born in mother oysters under the right environmental conditions over several years, creating the characteristic lustre pearls are renowned for, made up of so many layers of fine nacre. This is the wonder of pearls, the most unique gemstone in the world.
Why Are ‘Real Pearls’ More Expensive?
As you can imagine, many folks wonder why 100% sustainably cultivated authentic pearls are ‘more expensive,’ versus ‘freshwater’ or ‘imitation pearls,’ which are ‘stamped out by the millions’ like soda bottle tops. No wonder freshwater and imitation pearls are so inexpensive!
When this question comes up, as it does, Pearl FALCO Team Members remind us how one single Pearl FALCO pearl takes several years to cultivate, and is only ready to be displayed in a Pearl FALCO Gallery after that pearl has been touched by human hands at least 3000 times. Totally it takes 6-7 years to be ready and have spent with people’s love and devotion and the beautiful nature.
Combine that with how each Pearl FALCO Design is uniquely designed and handcrafted in Japan. When visiting a Pearl FALCO Gallery, what you see before you is an heirloom quality work of design meant for your loved ones and for those you may have yet to meet.
